When I think of the best coffee shops in Austin where I can relax and have a great time, Halcyon definitely comes to mind.

It’s nestled in downtown Austin beneath spectacular glass towers and it has a really vibrant atmosphere during the day with loud music playing – so it tends to attract young people looking to meet up and socialize.

Whether you’re just coming for coffee or something more – like lunchtime snacks or delicious desserts – Halcyon is the place to be! And trust me, you won’t find many other places in Austin that can offer an atmosphere like this one.

2. Barrett’s Coffee

Living in Austin, I’m always on the lookout for a great cup of coffee.

Whenever I’m around North Loop, Epoch Coffee is always my go-to spot. Not only do they have a great patio with comfy seating, but you’ll also find their delicious house-made mojo coffee here it’s simply the best.

Plus, if you’re feeling peckish, there are loads of snacks and pastries to choose from! Oh and the convenience doesn’t end there – this place reopens 24/7 again!

But wait, there’s more – I can even order takeaways at their two other branches at West Anderson Lane and Far West Boulevard.

Note that Far West and West Anderson are only open during certain hours though; however all locations offer indoor & outdoor services!

4. Sa-Tén Coffee & Eats

If you’re looking for some delicious espresso drinks with a Japanese twist, then Sa-Tén Coffee & Eats is the place to be.

This Austin-based café has two locations – one on Springdale Road and another – where I usually stop by – on Anderson Lane.

Not only can I get my usual espresso fix but also their signature saifa beverage, which is inspired by Vietnamese coffee culture. And if cold brew is more your style, never fear, as this cafes got that covered too!

No matter what takeout option or on-site service I’m looking for, Sa-Tén Coffee & Eats always delivers on its promise of unparalleled espresso and iced beverages in a unique and memorable atmosphere.

Whenever I’m in the mood for an unforgettable coffee experience, I make sure to visit one of the four locations of Houndstooth Coffee; located downtown, on East Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, and Rock Rose.

The espresso-focused interiors feature simple yet elegant designs, making for a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere that’s unrivalled.

The coffee served here is worth every penny: you can be sure to enjoy perfectly executed drinks from their constantly rotating selection of beans.

If that isn’t enough, they also have all the essentials one might need to start home-brewing – like beans and different kinds of alternative milks such as almond, oat, or soy. And if you’re feeling an afternoon or evening treat – there are iced coffees, hot coffees and even gallon cold brews!

This relatively new establishment delivers some of the most amazing coffee around – plus it’s usually a bit quieter and more laid back as not many people are aware of its existence since it only opened up in 2020.

Especially after 6 pm, this is a great place to meet up with friends; that’s when the no-screens rule kicks in – meaning no cell phones or ipads are allowed! It’ll be a breath of fresh air to enjoy conversations about what’s going on in your lives sans any digital distraction.
