Cooking Instructions
A) You can cook your Pie Iron breakfast sandwiches over a campfire, but did you know that you can also cook them on your camp stove or even grill? This is a great option if it rains or you don’t want a campfire that morning! Here’s what to do:
B) Campfire – cook your sandwich for 4 to 7 minutes, turning half way, until the bread is golden brown and egg is cooked. For best results keep the pie iron in a hot area of coals but not TOO HOT. It is easy for the bread to burn before the egg gets cooked.
C) Camp Stove – Turn your camp stove on medium heat and lay your pie iron directly on the stove grate over the flame. Cook for approximately 3 to 4 minutes per side
D) Grill – Preheat your grill to a medium heat (300 to 400 degrees). Lay your pie irons directly on the grill and cook for approximately 3 to 4 minutes per side until the bread is golden brown and egg is cooked. If you have a wooden handle keep these away from the grill.

* Don’t forget to generously spray the pie irons before each breakfast sandwich that you make.
* When pouring the egg over the bread, some of it almost always pours out. It helps to poke some holes in the bread with a fork, or you can use a little less of the egg.
* Make sure to use pre-cooked sausage. You can also substitute cooked bacon or a sausage patty. If using a frozen breakfast patty, it should be thawed first. Tip: cook the meat before you leave home!
SERVING SUGGESTIONS:Â a side of fresh fruit is a perfect side to these breakfast sandwiches.
