  • Versatile: Serve it with your favorite sides like Instant Pot mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus, or a loaf of crusty bread to soak up all that delicious butter sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 salmon fillet 1 1/2 – 2 pounds
  • 4 tablespoons butter melted
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 2 teaspoons lemon zest
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh dill
  • cooking spray
  • Optional garnish: lemon slices

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare the Salmon: Place the salmon fillet on a large piece of foil. Make sure the foil is big enough to wrap the salmon completely.
  3. Make the Lemon Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, and pepper.
  4. Flavor the Salmon: Pour the lemon garlic butter mixture over the salmon, ensuring it is evenly coated.
  5. Wrap and Bake: Wrap the foil tightly around the salmon to create a sealed packet. Place the foil packet on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  6. Optional Broiling: For crispy edges, uncover the salmon and broil for an additional 2-3 minutes. Keep a close eye on it to prevent burning.
  7. Garnish: Remove the salmon from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh dill and lemon slices. Optionally, sprinkle with homemade salmon seasoning for added flavor.
  8. Serve: Serve the salmon hot with your favorite sides. Enjoy!

Tips for Success

  • Choosing Salmon: While wild-caught salmon is recommended for its superior taste, farmed salmon works just as well and is more budget-friendly.
  • Fresh Dill: Fresh dill adds a unique flavor to the dish. If you don’t have fresh dill, you can substitute it with parsley or chives.
  • Leftovers: Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in the oven or microwave.
